A green laser was flashed on the eyes of Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk as Mikel Arteta’s title-chasers Arsenal cruised to a 3-1 victory over the Blues at the Emirates. The 22-year-old Ukrainian winger was generally anticipated to join Arsenal in January. For months, Arteta and Edu Gaspar had been in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk.

As the two parties worked out a transfer fee, an agreement was getting closer. Chelsea, though, appeared out of nowhere to blow Arsenal out of the water with an £88 million proposal. And Mykhailo Mudryk ended up moving to Stamford Bridge rather than the Emirates, infuriating Arsenal fans.

Arsenal fans slammed for hostile behaviour towards Mykhailo Mudryk

Arsenal fans haven’t forgotten Mykhailo Mudryk it seems, and the forward got a taste of life in north London on Tuesday, when he came off the bench in Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat. The Gunners recaptured top spot in the league by easily defeating Frank Lampard’s Blues, who suffered yet another defeat.

Martin Odegaard scored twice in the first 31 minutes to put Arsenal in command, the first a stunning shot from the edge of the box. Gabriel Jesus sealed the victory three minutes after Odegaard’s second goal, striking low past Kepa. Noni Madueke scored a consolation goal in the second half, but the damage had already been done.

Arsenal broke their four-game winless streak with a thrashing of a shambolic Chelsea side, keeping the pressure on Manchester City in the title chase. However, one Arsenal fan went too far by shining a green laser into Mykhailo Mudryk’s eyes. Those who look directly into the dangerous item risk becoming blinded. Football fans, particularly Arsenal supporters, took to social media to protest the heinous actions.
