This week’s SmackDown started as the LWO came out to the arena. Before they could say much, they were interrupted by the Judgement Day and they started having a promo war. 95% of the promo was in Spanish and we do not understand Spanish. So we did not understand what they were saying.
At the end of the promo, a mixed tag team match was set where Rey Mysterio and Zelina Vega teamed up to take on the team of Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. And that is the only thing we understand from this promo. At the end of it, Dominik hit a cheap shot on Rey and escaped.
WWE Smackdown 05.05.2023 Results
Match 1 – The OC defeated The Viking Raiders
The first match of the night was booked for five minutes. No team in particular dominated the match. At the end of it, The OC hit their double team move called The Magic Cutter on Ivar and Karl Anderson pinned him to earn the victory for his side.
WWE Raw Women’s champion Bianca Belair came out to the arena. She talked about her feelings on being drafted to Friday Night Smackdown. Damage CTRL interrupted her. After Bayley cut a short promo, the trio attacked her. The Women’s Tag Team Champions Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan came out and saved her.
Match 2 – The Street Profits defeated Imperium
The second match of the night was booked for only two and a half minutes and it was an easy victory for The Street Profits. Montez Ford pinned Giovanni Vinci with the Frog Splash to earn the victory for his side. The babyface side also dominated the most part of the match.
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes came out to the arena to promote his match that is scheduled for tomorrow at the Backlash pay per view event. He talked about his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar and hyped it. It was a monologue and there was no appearance from Brock Lesnar tonight.
Match 3 – Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Karrion Kross
This match was booked for six minutes and it was a complete action packed match. Karrion Kross dominated the most part of the match but the King of Strong Style managed to earn a victory for himself at the end when he pinned Kross with his finisher Kin Shasa.
Match 4 – The LWO (Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio) defeated The Judgement Day (Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley)
The final match of the night was book for six and a half minutes and finally the LWO earned a victory as a team. The latter part of the match was being dominated by the Judgement Day. Dominik was mocking The Three Amigos of late Eddie Guerrero on Rey, but countered it with a leg lock pin and won the match for his side.
As soon as the match ended, The Judgment Day attacked Rey Mysterio. The LWO came out to save their leader along with Bad Bunny. They kept the fight between Bunny and Damian Priest intact for tomorrow as Priest escaped. Bad Bunny stood inside the ring with a Kendo Stick as this week’s SmackDown went off air.
