While questions have been raised over manager Carlo Ancelotti’s future as well, but insiders, as well as the Italian himself has claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has full faith in him and would back him for next season.
However, Ancelotti has demanded some refreshments in the squad, after the Los Blancos didn’t invest much last summer bringing only Aurelien Tchouameni for £70 million and Antonio Rudiger for free. But the Italian coach wants some solid reinforcements in the summer, and apart from Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid have identified £44 million-rated Liverpool star as well.

The Los Blancos feel the Liverpool star is best suited to take Mendy’s place should the Frenchman leave in the upcoming transfer window. There are number of uncertainties in the squad as Los Blancos prepare for the next season.
Due to recent injuries, Mendy has lost some untouchable status which he had gained after signing from Lyon in the summer of 2019. However, Real Madrid are now considering selling him if a fair offer comes in. Real Madrid is preparing for any possibility in light of the prospective scenario that the 27-year-old departs and have identified Robertson as a potential replacement. The Scottish full-back has been a key member of the Liverpool squad for a while, and his resume suits the team’s preferences.
Even if Jurgen Klopp’s team has underperformed by their norms in the Premier League, Robertson has continued to be one of the Reds’ most reliable players this season. According to the outlet, Robertson would cost about £39m-44m, which is similar to what Real Madrid expects to receive for a possible sale of Mendy.
