This week’s SmackDown was a pre taped version that actually took place last week after the previous week’s episode of Smackdown. As we all know that WWE wrestlers traveled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the Night of Champions and it was impossible for them to do a live show tonight.
We start things of with the first match of the night and it was a United States championship match where the champion Austin Theory defended his title against the former three times United States Championship Sheamus. The match was teased on last week when Sheamus attacked Austin Theory during his promo.

Match 1 – WWE United States Championship – Austin Theory defeated Sheamus
The first match of the night was for the WWE United States Championship and on paper it was a pretty big match. This match could definitely go on as a headliner of Night of Champions. But the event has a packed schedule so they had to spare this one for SmackDown.
The match was booked for nine minutes and it was mostly dominated by Sheamus. As he was closing in on a big victory, Pretty Deadly interfered and attacked the Brawling Brutes. As Sheamus started to deal with these guys, Theory quickly rolled him up for the pin fall victory.
Austin Theory Defeated Sheamus On Smackdown To Retain His Title
Backstage the family feud got even more ignited when Roman Reigns informed the Usos that they would not be joining him at Night of Champions. But they ware invited next week on SmackDown at the Thousand day title reign celebration of Roman Reigns. He also said the whole family would be there.
Jimmy Uso looked frustrated and he stood up. As he was about to leave, Roman Reigns wanted him to sit down. Jimmy did not leave but did not sit down either. Roman stood face to face with him and threatened him. Jey took his brother out of the room.
Match 2 – Shotzi and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Damage CTRL
This match was booked for five and a half minutes and it was an average match. The inner tention kept on increasing among Damage CTRL as Iyo Sky accidentally assisted Rodriguez to pin Bayley.
Bayley was trying to get Rodriguez down, Iyo was supposed to hit a super drop kick on her but she chose to hit Shotzi. While hitting the drop kick, she landed on Rodriguez’s back as she dropped on Bayley and sat on Bayley’s stomach. And that was the pin which Bayley could not answer.
