Gujarat Titans Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki hailed Gujarat Titans youngster Shubman Gill for his consistent performance in this edition of the Indian Premier League. The 23-year-old played a vital role in taking the defending champions to the second consecutive final on Sunday.
The GT Opener has been enjoying some form in this edition of the Indian Premier League as the youngster scored three centuries in the last four games of the cash-rich league and will look to continue his fine form going the grand final against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
Speaking to the media ahead of their final game against Chennai Super Kings, Vikram Solanki is pleased with the contribution of young Shubman Gill and said that the team is happy with the player’s contributions at the top of the orders as they scored a bulk amount of runs for the team in IPL 2023
“Shubman has played a significant role with the lion’s share of overs, we are pleased with his contributions. However, it’s important to remember that, at any given time, only two players can be at the crease. If the two openers occupy the entirety of the 20 overs, we are absolutely fine with that,” Vikram Solanki said.
Vikram Solanki hailed Shubman Gill as a brilliant tactician of the game, as the youngster has shown his ability to perform at the highest level for his franchise and the Indian team in recent times and said that the youngster set a benchmark for fellow players to follow.
“When it comes to batting, Shubman Gill is a brilliant technician. For a young man, he has already displayed remarkable skill and finesse in his approach. If you are looking to emulate someone in the game, he would certainly be one of the examples you would want to follow,” he added.
The 23-year-old is already touted to be the next big thing in Indian Cricket and has been in the form of life since the start of the 2023 season will look to do well for the defending champions in the final and then be followed by the all-important WTC final against Australia starting on June 7.

Vikram Solani believes that apart from his natural talent the youngster has put in tremendous hard work into the game and apart from practising in the nets, the youngster works in analyzing the strength and weaknesses of the opposition which helps him to be one step ahead of his opponent bowlers and reckons that he prepares him very well for big games against formidable opponents.

Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians – have managed to defend their titles and win back-to-back IPL trophies. It will be interesting to see whether Gujarat Titans can replicate the historic feat achieved by this legendary team when take on four-time champions on Sunday.
