The current WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns celebrated his 1000 day championship reign this Saturday at May 27. It was an iconic achievement as no WWE star got to reach such a milestone in the 21st century. In fact he is the first WWE star to achieve this milestone in 36 long year.
The last wrestler to achieve such a success was Hulk Hogan who had an amazing title reign of 1474 days. Roman Reigns is less than three weeks away from breaking the record set by WWE Hall of Famer Pedro Morales. He is also rumoured to break the record of Hulk Hogan.

Wrestling Legend Speaks Out in Favor of Roman Reigns’ Prolonged WWE Title Run
This might have a huge achievement but he faced massive criticism for holding the World titles for such a long time. The biggest criticism he had to go through was for not defending his title regularly, neither making regular appearances either. A lot of fans were really tired with such a lengthy reign.
However, wrestling legend The Blue Meanie recently defended this long title reign of The Tribal Chief when he spoke to Nick Hausman of Inside The Ropes where he talked about various matters including Roman Reigns’ iconic Universal title reign. Here is what the former NWA World Light Heavyweight Champion had to say;

The Blue Meanie Defends Roman Reigns’ Long Title Reign
“So yeah, that whole Bloodline thing’s been fantastic. And I like that there’s a long title — I like the title reign to mean more now. Not like a hot potato situation like it was in the Attitude Era.” Said the former WWE star while talking about Bloodline and The Head of the Table.
“I was just looking through some of my old footage and I realised was in WWE, I had three Intercontinental matches with three different champions within the course of a couple months. I wrestled Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental belt, wrestled Godfather for the Intercontinental belt, and then I totally forgot, I know I wrestled Val Venis, but I forgot he was Intercontinental champion when I wrestled him.”

Roman Reigns would be celebrating his fantastic landmark of reaching 1000 days as WWE Universal Champion this week on Friday Night Smackdown. At a point, his World title reign was seeming a little boring but with the recent Bloodline storyline, it has turned out to be the best entertainment of WWE.
