The current WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther teased a huge match for the upcoming Money in the Bank PLE when he issued a shocking challenge to one of the biggest stars of WWE today. The Ring General is holding the Intercontinental title for 354 days and he is less than 100 days away from breaking the record set by Honky Tonk Man.
Gunther has beaten some of the biggest stars of WWE already to keep the prestigious Intercontinental Championship like Braun Strowman and Sheamus. Clearly, WWE has really massive plans for the Austrian professional wrestler. The day is not very far when he captures the WWE World title.

But the Ring General is not happy. Now he wants to face The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. Speaking with My Love Letter to Wrestling with Mark Andrews he issued a shocking challenge when he challenged the former ten times WWE World Champion. Here is what the IC Champion to say;
“That moment with Brock was all I needed, I don’t think we needed to have lots of action going on with him, get into a little scuffle and stuff, just the moment and the crowd reaction for that, it was all I needed. Just see how people…on the internet, you read stuff and people get easily excited, but often, the hype from online doesn’t translate to the venue.
Gunther Wants To Face Brock Lesnar At Money In The Bank 2023
“When that happened, I was like, compared to the US, especially in England, people understand competition. They tend to look at the match and take it as a competition and then emotionally react to it, rather than expecting the fireworks right away.” Said the current WWE Intercontinental Champion.
He continued, “I hope. The thing is, who knows. We had great success as Clash at the Castle, and now coming back with Money in the Bank, I’m hoping this is something that becomes a tradition where they venture out to Europe for the big events. The response is great and we get the chance more often.”
A match between Gunther and Brock Lesnar is only dreamt of till now. Surely it is happening at some point in the future. But it is really unlikely at Money in the Bank since Brock Lesnar is currently involved in a feud with Cody Rhodes and the duo is likely to face each other at the mentioned event. But the dream match between Gunther and Brock Lesnar would definitely take place in the future and the fans are waiting for it.
