Liverpool were today able to confirm the signing of the Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan on a 3-year deal but it looks like the manager is not done with his purchases in the transfer window.
The club is still linked with a number of players in Europe but one name that stood out in today’s papers is Borussia Dortmund’s Jakub Blaszczykowski.
It is no surprise to see Klopp linked with a player from his former team but this time, it is no Reus. The 30-year old winger was not an integral part of the Dortmund’s revival under Thomas Tuchel last season as he managed just the 12 throughout the season in all competitions.
The manager has other preferable options in the position last season and it is now understood that the player wants to make a move away from the club.
And though the likes of Wolfsburg are interested in his signature this summer, it is understood that Klopp’s relation with the player can help Liverpool land their target this summer.

The Poland international was a potentially top class winger in his prime but faded away in the last couple of season. However, he was influential in Poland’s run in the EUROs in France recently and has now revived his career attracting interests from clubs from Europe.
He may not be the impact player he was a few years ago but Blaszczykowski is a player who adds dynamism to the squad. At his age, he will not cost on the higher side and can be an alternative from the bench at Liverpool.
The likes of Sadio Mane will surely hog his place in the team for most of the next season and without European football as well, the 30-year old will not be able to get a great amount of game time even at Liverpool.
But a reunion with his former coach at a place where his experience could make a difference should be decent attractions for the winger to make the switch to Liverpool.
The English club have reportedly just made queries about his situation and have not officially had a word with the player or the club ahead of a move this summer.
So if Liverpool really wants more depth in their squad for the long term, Klopp may well not waste time in announcing Jakub Blaszczykowski move to Liverpool.
Do you think the 30-year old is the player Liverpool need at the moment?
