Arsenal transfer round-up: 2 youngsters signed; 1 blow and 1 star striker signing imminent? 1

Arsene Wenger has suddenly become a busy man in the transfer market as he does not seem to be able to find the right fit for his team.

The manager is looking hard for a striker who can lead the side next season after not being impressed with the returns from Olivier Giroud but he is also linked with players from other positions in the latest rumors. So let’s take a look at the transfer round up for Arsenal for the day:

20-year old Bolton defender has already agreed personal terms with the club and it is expected that the official announcement will be made in the coming days.

He is not expected to start for Arsenal next season but is a player with loads of potential for the future.

In a shocking news, Arsenal are linked with Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko. The Newcastle midfielder was impressive in the previous season for the club and is now desperate to move back into the top-flight after being relegated with the Magpies.

He was also in good form in the EUROs and has now attracted interests from the Gunners according to reports. He will be a decent addition to the squad but Wenger will have to fight it out with a number of clubs for his signature this summer.

Moving on, the club were rocked in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan who is reportedly unsettled at the club. The player’s agent revealed that the midfielder is happy to fight for his place at Barcelona and that interests from clubs like Arsenal are natural.

“The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club,” the agent, Ahmet Bulut, told The Guardian.

The manager, however, seemed to have completed the signing of another prospect for the future in Norwegian wonder-kid Erik Tobias Sandberg.

The 16-year-old Sandberg is regarded as one of the ‘brightest prospects in Scandinavia’ and is said to have caught the eye of Arsene Wenger back in February. It is claimed the young centre-back has been offered a scholarship deal that will turn into a professional contract in his 17th birthday.

And finally to the biggest news of the day, the Gunners seem to be finally ending their search for a striker as it was revealed earlier today that Argentine striker Mauro Icardi is close to a move to the Emirates.

Italian daily Corriere Dello Sport claims Icardi’s agent travelled to London today to speak to Arsenal’s representatives over a potential move this summer.

Gunners are allegedly willing to offer around £100,000-a-week in wages to the Argentina international and if he makes the move, the South American striker can be a good addition to the squad for the next season.
