Gujarat Titans fast-bowler Yash Dayal has reacted after facing severe criticism on social media for a recent story he posted on his official Instagram account.
The left-arm pacer from Uttar Pradesh left his followers utterly surprised by posting a picture of religious nature. The same photo was doing the rounds after the recent horrific stabbing case in Delhi where a man named Sahil Khan murdered a 16-year-old girl by stabbing her multiple times before crushing her face with a stone. The heinous act was caught on a CCTV camera.
Soon after the crime, the cartoon went viral. The message of the photo was a bit controversial as it conveyed the message of Muslim men making Hindu women fall in love with them through fake promises before killing them.
It did not take long for Yash Dayal’s story to become viral on social media as he faced criticism for several quarters for the same. Later, the photo was deleted before the bowler posted an apology for the post, writing: “Guy’s apologies for the story it was just posted by mistake plz don’t spread hate. Thank You. I have respect for each & every community n society.”
Yash Dayal breaks silence:
In yet another twist to the entire saga, Yash Dayal later took to Instagram to claim that his account was hacked. The bowler claimed that he neither posted the controversial cartoon nor the subsequent apology. In the evening, through a statement from the PR team of Gujarat Titans, Dayal claimed that he has filed a complaint with Instagram authorities that his official handle has been compromised.
“There were two stories posted on my Insta handle today — both of which weren’t done by me. I have reported the matter to authorities as I believe my account is being accessed by someone else and used for posting.
“I am trying to regain full control of my Instagram account. I respect all communities and the picture shared today does not reveal my true beliefs,” the statement shared with the media said.
