This week on Friday Night Smackdown, the former 14 times WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair made her grand return and confronted Asuka. She made a clear challenge to the Empress of Tomorrow for the Women’s Championship during the segment.

Asuka won the WWE RAW Women’s Championship from Bianca Belair at Night of Champions. Tonight, WWE change to the name of the RAW Women’s Championship to just WWE Women’s Championship. Bianca was looking forward to having a rematch, which Adam Pearce promised her tonight on SmackDown.

The Implications Of Charlotte Flair’s Return To Smackdown And The High-Stakes Showdown With Asuka – Analysis

As of now, it looks like WWE would be booking a triple threat match for the new WWE Women’s Championship where Asuka would defend her title against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. The venue might be the night before Money in the Bank which we got to hear from Pearce while he was discussing it over mobile phone.

So it is pretty much clear why Bianca dropped the title to Asuka so that she could drop it to Charlotte and they would start a brand new dream feud between Charlotte and Bianca, something that never happened on the main roster before. They faced each other before but not in a proper feud.

Charlotte Flair Challenged Asuka For The Women’s Title

First of all, we need to say that it had been a terrible booking so far. Bianca had the longest reign of the RAW Women’s Championship so she could drop it to a 41 year old wrestler who does not have to prove herself anymore. Generally, such long title rains are only designed so that the champion could lift a new talent.

When Bianca dropped the Championship to Asuka, it turned out to be one of the most meaningless Championship reigns ever. It is now pretty much clear that it was a completely visionless Championship reign. If they did not have any proper plans for it, she could have definitely dropped and regained the title once or a couple of times. What was the point of giving her such a long reign?

Now, the former 14 times champion Charlotte Flair is back to get her 15th title reign. They just cannot see anything beyond these three – four women when they have nearly 40 wrestlers on the roster. Talented wrestlers like Tegan Nox and Piper Niven do not even get any bookings, and people are saying that Triple H is doing a fantastic job.

Triple H might have been doing a fantastic job to promote the Bloodline storyline, but he is doing a terrible job in the women’s division. Since becoming in charge, only wrestler she promoted is Rhea Ripley, who was destined to be a big star already. We seriously hope WWE starts to value their women’s division more soon.
