Jude Bellingham was finally unveiled as a Real Madrid player on Thursday (June 15), a day after the Spanish giants announced his transfer from Borussia Dortmund. And it looks like Real Madrid’s expectations from the 19-year old is really high as he has been handed the number five shirt, previously worn by football icon Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane had powered Real to Champions League glory in his maiden season with them and the Los Blancos will be expecting something similar from the England international. Earlier this week, Bellingham completed a £115million transfer to Real. The transfer has made him the most expensive British player of all time. Unsurprisingly, he has received a warm welcome from the Real faithful.

During his unveiling, he posed for photos with club president Florentino Pérez before a highlights reel of his best moments was played in front of an audience.
“I just want to say, thank you everyone in the room for joining me on the proudest day of my life, the day where I join the greatest football club in the history of the game,” Bellingham said at his unveiling. “Hala Madrid!”

Bellingham has signed a six-year deal with Real. He is likely to be a key member of the team right from the start of the upcoming season. The highly-rated midfielder began his career with Birmingham City before spending three seasons in Germany with Dortmund. At Dortmund, he scored 24 goals in 132 games and won the German Cup in 2021. In his last season in Germany, he was named the Bundesliga Player of the Year.
