Indian Speedster Navdeep Saini is set to miss at least three games for the or his English county side Worcestershire in the next month, as he was named in the Indian Squad for the test series against West Indies starting on June 12.
The English County Side secured the services of the Delhi Pacer for the upcoming four games in July but is set to miss the games in England due to the national team commitments for the Indian team in the Caribbean Soil. In a statement released by Worcestershire just before the India Squad announcement, It said
“Worcestershire have secured the services of Indian fast bowler Navdeep Saini as their second overseas player in the LV=Insurance County Championship for the upcoming four matches until the end of July,”

“Saini’s arrival will bolster the bowling unit, which has been affected by Charlie Morris’ retirement due to a knee issue, Josh Tongue’s call-ups to the England squad, and recent injury concerns surrounding Dillon Pennington and Adam Finch.” The Club said
The 30-year-old was not in the scheme of the Men in Blue for two years or so but earned a surprise for the test series in West Indies. The right-arm pacer played a Test for India way back in 2021 against Australia, he played only two games for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023 owing to his injuries issue but earned a call-up to the West Indies tour.
“There is always a clause for any international player that if he is called up for national duty, he would be released. Hence, Worcestershire won’t be able to avail Saini’s services for the said tenure,” a BCCI source told
A source in BCCI said that he will be released from the County Championship to play for the Indian team. Navdeep Saini was not in the scheme of the Men in Blue for two years or so but earned a surprise for the test series in West Indies.
I Was Training With The Dukes Ball..- Navdeep Saini On His Call Up To Indian Team
Navdeep Saini said that he was not expecting the call-up to the Indian team, as he was scheduled to play the county championship in Worcestershire for the next four games and revealed that he practiced with dukes ball even during the IPL 2023, as he had hope of being selected as a net bowler or stand by a bowler in WTC final.

“Honestly, I was not expecting this call. Yes, during the IPL, I was training with the Dukes ball because I thought I might get picked as a net bowler or would be among the standbys for the World Test Championship final,” Navdeep Saini said.
Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar were the new faces in the Indian pace bowling department, as they will be given opportunities to play in the next WTC Cycle.
