Former Pakistan Pacer Mohammad Amir revealed his choice of favourite batters and bowlers in International cricket at the moment. The 31-year-old has picked two of the biggest stalwarts Virat Kohli and Babar Azam as his favourite batters in the present generation.

Amir retired from international cricket a couple of years ago but has performed consistently well in domestic cricket in Pakistan and the global leagues. The left-arm has not represented Pakistan since 2020 after quitting international cricket due to reported differences with then-head coach Misbah ul Haq.

Speaking on Cricket Pakistan Youtube Channel, Mohammed Amir picked Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli and Pakistan skipper as his top two favourites in International Cricket and finally picked the emerging Indian youngster Shubman Gill as the third batter and predicts that he will be the next big thing from India in International Cricket.

“Virat [Kohli], Babar is my favourite apart from T20s. He is my favourite in Tests and ODIs. Finally, Shubman Gill, as I feel he will be the next big thing for India in the future if he maintains his current form,” Mohammad Amir said.

Virat Kohli and Babar Azam have impressed everyone with their consistency to perform in all three formats of the game against high-quality opponents in International cricket. Both the batters have been exceptional performers for their teams since their debut in International Cricket and the youngster Shubman Gill is expected to do big things in International Cricket as he showed a potential to perform on the big stage.

 “[Trent] Boult, he is number one for me, then Naseem Shah. These are bowlers, who I feel are complete bowlers and can play all formats. And third, would be Mitchell Starc,” Mohammad Amir added.

Trent Boult was an important member of New Zealand’s squad in the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cup as he bowled brilliantly well for the Blackcaps with the new ball. The left-arm pacer provided a vital breakthrough for the teams in crucial times.

Mitchell Starc has performed well for the Australian team since his debut winning all the major trophies in International Cricket and the young Naseem Shah is expected to spread head Pakistan bowling attack in the future, as he did brilliantly for the Men in Green in the limited Opportunities
