India ace Ravichandran Ashwin has opened up on the final moments of the thrilling game against Pakistan during the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. India and Pakistan played one of the most thrilling T20I games before the former registered a last-ball win.

Chasing 160 runs, India needed 2 runs on the final ball when Ravichandran Ashwin joined Virat Kohli in the middle. The off-spinner had the task of scoring those runs as he took the strike after Dinesh Karthik’s departure on the previous delivery.

The Tamil Nadu star showed remarkable composure when he let a ball go down the leg side for a wide. And when Mohammad Nawaz bowled the last delivery again after the wide, Ashwin calmly chipped a lofted drive over the infield to take the winning run and trigger wild celebration in the Indian camp.

“When I came to bat against Pakistan for the final ball in the World Cup, Virat Kohli gave me around 7 options to play that one ball. When I look into the eyes of Virat, he was possessed and was on another planet. It was a terrific innings by Virat in one of the great matches ever,” said Ashwin.
