Next week on Friday Night Smackdown, a former WWE world champion and a WWE Hall of Famer is set to return on television. He is one of the biggest stars WWE ever produced and even at the age of 49, he is still very much able to produce 5 star main event matches.
The Legend we are talking about here is non other than former 11 times World Champion Edge. He was one of the biggest stars throughout the Ruthless Aggression era of WWE and he was one of the biggest attractions of the early days of the PG Era as well.
SmackDown: Former World Champion Set To Return Next Week
The Rated R Superstar was forced to retire from ending action back in 2011 because of a deadly injury. But he shocked the entire world when he returned to action in 2020 during the men’s Royal Rumble match. Since then he is working actively in WWE and he had been present in some Mega matches against the likes of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
The latest feud he worked in was against Finn Balor whom he defeated at WrestleMania 39 inside Hell in a Cell. He also became the first wrestler to beat ‘The Demon’ of Finn Balor clean. After WrestleMania 39 he did not get into any feud or in any kind of regular storyline yet.
Edge Would Be The Guest On Grasyon Waller Effect Next Week On Smackdown
He was a part of WWE draft and he got drafted to Friday Night Smackdown. When WWE announced the introduction of the new World Heavyweight title, he participated in the 12 man tournament that WWE organised to crown the first World Heavyweight champion. Both SmackDown and RAW participated and the 49 year old participated from the blue brand.
Edge lost the match he got pinned by AJ Styles in this match. He provided a very good push to the Phenomenal One through this match but after his defeat on the mentioned night, he did not appear in any show of WWE yet. The defeat by the hands of AJ Styles was his last appearance in WWE so far.
However, last night on the blue brand of WWE, it was announced that the Rated R superstar is coming back to WWE. He would feature as the special guest of the Grayson Waller Effect next week on Smackdown. We are expecting to see him getting into a feud or storyline. But there is no reports on who might feud with Edge next.
