Mohammed Shami, making his comeback to the test side after 18 months, bowled a splendid spell on the third morning in Antigua to demolish the hosts. Shami displayed attributes of his good old self as he made the ball talk viciously. The Bengal pacer relied more on pace and bounce than swing in order to torment the West Indian top order, and the strategy worked big time.

Shami’s first victim of the day was dangerous batsman Darren Bravo, who couldn’t fend off a short delivery. The pacer followed it up with wickets of the experienced Marlon Samuels and Jermaine Blackwood to leave the hosts tottering in their first innings. While Samuels was caught behind, Blackwood was undone by a short delivery and ended up giving catching practice to the slip cordon.
