Speaking on his youtube channel, Ab de Villiers hailed Yashasvi Jaiswal for his phenomenal innings on his debut for India and reckons that the youngster has got special things to do for the country in the future and also praised for his performance in the recently concluded IPL 2023.

“The player who stood out for me was Yashasvi Jaiswal. Right at the top of the order, in his first Test, it does not happen every day that a youngster plays his first Test and scores a century.

“The first time I saw him play in the IPL, I knew there was something special about him. You could look at him and feel how much time he has to face the ball,” Ab de Villiers said.

Yashasvi Jaiswal made it into the Indian team following a terrific IPL season with the Rajasthan Royals and a domestic season with Mumbai. He impressed everyone with his fearless approach to batting at the top of the order.

A Very Hot Prospect For The Future Of Team India – AB de Villiers

Ab de Villiers believes that Yashasvi Jaiswal has got a lot of time to play his shots, as he can be equally good against both pacers and spinner in all three formats, and hailed him as one of the hot prospects in the Indian team for the future.

“He has a lot of time. He is a nice, tall left-hander, the pace is not going to bother him. He has got time to make decisions and play, both against pace and spin. He is a very talented youngster, a very hot prospect for the future for Team India and I am happy to see him score that century in that match,” Ab de Villiers added
Given his form and confidence, he would be a vital cog for the Indian team going forward in all three formats of the game. The left-handed opener will look to continue his fine form into the 2nd test followed by the five-match T20 series against West Indies.
