Pakistan batted Saud Shakeel created a unique record in the 146-year history of Test cricket as he became the first batter to hit a score of 50-plus runs in each of his first seven Test matches. He achieved this unique feat in the ongoing second Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in SSC, Colombo.

27-year-old Saud Shakeel has scored 50 or more in all seven Test matches of his Test career. With this, a world record has been registered in his name. Saud has become the first batsman in the world to do so in the history of Test cricket. No batsman could do this feat before him.

Thus far, Shakeel has scores of- 37(94), 76(159), 63(106), 94(213), 23(58), 53(133), 22(34), 55*(108), 125*(341), 32(146) & 208*(361)- in his first seven Test matches and got out for 57 in the first innings of the second Test against the Sri Lankan team.

Previously, India’s Sunil Gavaskar, Pakistan’s Saeed Ahmed, West Indies’ Basil Butcher and New Zealand’s Bert Sutcliffe scored half-centuries in each of the first six Tests of their career.

Shakeel also bagged the award for Player of the Match in the first Test, which Pakistan won by four wickets in Galle last week, after he made a career-best 208 not out in the first innings. The left-hander is also only the second Pakistan batter to hit a double ton in his first Test match away from home.

Pakistan In Full Control Of The Second Test As Abdullah Shafique Hits Brilliant Century  

Pakistan leads the two-Test series 1-0 after a brilliant showing in the first match. In the second Test, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 166 runs after captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and chose to bat first.

Abrar Ahmed picked 4/69, while Naseem Shah took 3/41 on a placid Colombo wicket.

In response, Pakistan, at the time of writing this article, have made 379/4 with Abdullah Shafique unbeaten on 180, Shan Masood scoring 51 and Saud Shakeel made 57 runs.
