The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah revealed that Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah is fully fit to return to the Indian team. The 29-year-old is expected to be back in the Indian colours in the Ireland series starting in August to get fully fit for the Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 respectively.
The Men in Blue will be playing the T20 series against West Indies tentatively starting on 18th August and the decision to include them in the Ireland tour will be based on his body fitness in the upcoming days. After having back surgery in March of this year, the seamer undertook a protracted rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Speaking to the media, Jay Shah said Jasprit Bumrah is completely fit to play in the three-match T20 series against Ireland and revealed that the team selection will be based on consistency apart from the Ireland tour in August.

“Bumrah is totally fit and he may go to Ireland. There will be consistency in selections apart from Ireland tour,” Jay Shah said.
The Speedster availability will be crucial for Indian Team in the Asia Cup and World Cup, India’s team failed to win a single ICC trophy post-Champions Trophy victory in 2013 under the leadership of legendary MS Dhoni.
In order to keep Bumrah healthy for the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in October-November of this year, NCA and the team’s medical staff reportedly working hard to get him fit for the mega event.
The right arm pacer has been India’s best bowler across all three formats since his debut for the Men in Blue in International Cricket, he is expected to be a vital player for the Indian team.
The Process For These Appointments Will Be Initiated Soon – Jay Shah
Jay Shah said that The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has already conducted interviews for the head coach of the Women’s team and said that they looking at the specialized coaches for all the departments and reckons that the appointment will be made soon.
“The CAC has already conducted interviews for the head coach position and is also looking for specialized coaches for fielding and bowling. The process for these appointments will be initiated soon,” Jay Shah added
It is widely reported that Amol Muzumdar is likely to become the new batting coach of the Indian women’s team ahead of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The Indian team will be participating in the Asian Games where they have already qualified for the quarterfinals based on their ICC T20I rankings.
