Matt Riddle started his professional wrestling career in 2014 on the independent circuit and he got his biggest break in 2018 when he got to sign for WWE. He worked in NXT before joining the main roster in 2020 and ever since joining the main roster he had been treated as a top star of the promotion.
2021 to 2022 was the best time period of his career. He had an excellent Tag Team partnership with Randy Orton during the time and the two even won the Tag Team Championship two times. Apart from his Tag Team success, he had excellent singles success as well.
Inside WWE’s Decision: Why Matt Riddle’s Main Event Push Derailed
Last year he had an excellent feud with Seth Rollins who is currently holding the World Heavyweight Championship. The feud was ultimately won by Riddle. At Extreme Rules PLE event, Riddle defeated Rollins by submission in a Fight Pit match which definitely was a huge accomplishment for him. It also was the main event of the show.
But ever since he returned to WWE after WrestleMania 39, he somehow lost his main event push. Not only he lost his main event push, he is not even getting a solid mid card push either. Slowly he is turning out to be a jobber. Not everyone is happy with this degradation of the former WWE United States champion.
Matt Riddle Lost To Ludwig Kaiser This Monday On RAW
This week on RAW, he lost to Ludwig Kaiser in a single match and the most surprising thing was, it was a clean with free for the German professional wrestler. Kaiser had been a consistent jobber ever since joining the main roster and he lost almost all of his singles matches.
This defeat made things pretty much clear that Matt Riddle is somehow losing his push in WWE and right now he is nothing but a jobber. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio recently revealed what WWE thinks of him right now when he said, “Man, he’s lower than I thought he was in their minds,” making it pretty much clear that he is not a big project of the promotion anymore.
Meltzer also reported that there are some outside of the ring issues which prevented his big push in WWE. So it is pretty much certain that he is not going to receive any big push in WWE anymore. But we still hope for the best as these things are a matter of change. We hope Matt Riddle gets his big push back soon.
