West Indies opener Kyle Mayers has opened up about the high-octane match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Lucknow which had some heated moments on and off the field during IPL 2023. The two sides had played a couple of thrilling encounters as the game went down to the wire with a lot of aggressive battle in the field.
LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir and pacer Naveen ul Haq had a furious discussion with Virat Kohli after a tough match between LSG and Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier this year and West Indies opener Kyle Mayers too had a go at the former Indian skipper before umpires calmed the things down after the game.
Recalling the game in IPL, West Indies opener Kyle Mayers feels that it is important to be aggressive in the field as they can do certain things to win the match and asserted that it is good to show courage and willingness to win the game.

“It’s great, sometimes you need to get at your opposition, anything you can possibly get out of the game. Being aggressive is always good, it shows courage and the willingness to get your team over the line,” Kyle Mayers said.
Virat Kohli was seen animated throughout the match, having words with Lucknow Super Giants batters Amit Mishra and Naveen ul Haq in the final overs of the game, which was not well received by LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. The 2011 World Cup winners were seen having a heated argument after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s win over Lucknow Super Giants in Ekana Stadium.
Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir 100% of their match fee and Naveen ul Haq with 50% of their match fee for their actions in the field and the battle continued even on social media with Virat Kohli and Naveen ul Haq posting cryptic Instagram stories taking go to each other teams.

Kyle Mayers feels that Virat Kohli’s would be a priceless wicket for any bowler as he has been the best batter in all three formats of the game. The Indian batting maestro has done exceptionally well for the Indian team over the years.

“I think Kohli, any bowler would want to dismiss Kohli, the best player across all three formats,” Kyle Mayers added.
