Next on Summerslam was the Battle Royal which became one of the most anticipated matches of the show for several number of reasons. Firstly, it was a Battle Royal, something that every fan loves to see. Secondly, the involvement of the fan favorite LA Knight in this match. It was a fun match overall. This was one of the most entertaining matches of the night and they finally picked the right person to win it. LA Knight, the fan favourite, really needed to win this match. Of course it had no purpose whatsoever, but this can be the beginning of the big push for the Megastar, and we seriously hope it does. Omos made his return and had a dominant presence in this match.
Some of the wrestlers received excellent treatment in this match. They told some good stories too which helped building some ongoing feuds. Matt Riddle is clearly a jobber now who got eliminated just like a jobber. It feels a little bad for him but this is how wrestling works. Happy to see Knight finally receiving a big victory, he needed it more than anyone else. Hopefully he gets a big push.
Match 4 – MMA Rules Match – Shayna Baszler defeated Ronda Rousey by Knockout
This was an anticipated match of the show and the fans were looking forward to the MMA rules match. But honestly, it was a boring match, and not very well worked either. The punches and kicks looked so fake. It did not have the simplest of the charm of an original MMA match. We must say this was not a very good idea to bring this gimmick into this match.
But the submission moves looked pretty good and legit. Only the punches and the kicks were the issues. The fans could never connect with this match and they remained totally mild during it. A normal regular WWE match would have been better surely. Shayna Baszler won the match and we can expect it to be the beginning of her new big push.
