Team India skipper Rohit Sharma wants the Indian team to be consistent throughout the ODI World Cup 2023 to give themselves the best chance to win the marquee event in the country after 12 long years. Rohit Sharma-led side is one of the favourites to win the championship on home soil as they got an experienced and well-oiled unit to win the cup in India.
The Men in Blue crumbled under pressure in the crunch moments of the game as they could not go one step further in the big tournaments. The team fell short of the title, despite doing well in the league stages of the tournament, as they lost the Champions trophy final in 2017, the Semifinals of 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cup, and the WTC final in 2021 and 2023.
Speaking to the ICC, Rohit Sharma was grateful to have represented the country in the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cup, where he played a pivotal role in taking the team to the semifinals of the tournaments falling short of making it into the finals and will look to use his experience to turn things around for India in 2023 ODI World Cup.

“In 2015 and 2019, I was a part of it, which felt really good to play the World Cup. We went to the semi-finals, tried everything we could to go to the finals and play well in the finals, but again, a very unfortunate incident where we couldn’t go through to the finals,” Rohit Sharma said.
Rohit Sharma brought a breath of fresh air to Indian cricket, following the exit of Virat Kohli post-2021 T20 World Cup. Now, he has a chance to become the third Indian captain to lift the ODI World Cup after legendary Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni.
We Are Trying Everything We Can, From Our Perspective To Make Sure… – Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is hopeful of turning things around for India in the mega event later this year and wants the team to be at their best throughout the tournament and revealed that the team is trying out everything to get ready the team ready for the mega event in the country.

“But hopefully, you know, we are back home again, so hopefully we can turn things around and it’s still a long way to go. And you know you can’t win the World Cup in one or two days.
“You got to play well for an entire month, a month and a half, and be consistent. So you know, we are trying everything we can, from our perspective to make sure we are ready for the World Cup,” Rohit Sharma added.
Team India was at its best during the period between 2007 and 2013, when India won three ICC trophies – the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013 – under the inspiring leadership of MS Dhoni and the team will be pumped to do well under Rohit Sharma in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
