No Special Treatment To Pakistan Cricket Team Coming To India For World Cup- MEA
Only recently did the Pakistan government give the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) the green signal to send the Babar Azam-led side to India for the ICC tournament. In a statement, the foreign ministry stated that sports should not be mixed with politics.
It was further mentioned that “Pakistan has deep concerns about the security of its Cricket Team” in India.
“Pakistan’s decision shows its constructive and responsible approach vis-à-vis India’s intransigent attitude, as the latter had refused to send its Cricket Team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. Pakistan, however, has deep concerns about the security of its Cricket Team.

We are conveying these concerns to the International Cricket Council and the Indian authorities. We expect that full safety and security of Pakistan Cricket Team will be ensured during its visit to India,” the press release stated.
Now in a reply, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) India spokesperson Arindham Bagchi said in a presser that the Pakistan team will be treated like any other cricket team that will come to India for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which begins on October 5.
He stated: “We have seen these reports regarding the Pakistan cricket team’s participation in the upcoming ICC World Cup to be hosted by India. Pakistan cricket team will be treated just like the cricket team of any other country participating in the ICC World Cup…”
