WWE introduced the new World Heavyweight Championship title for Monday Night RAW recently since Roman Reigns was not defending his titles regularly and RAW needed a separate world title. They arranged a tournament to Crown the first World Heavyweight Champion. Seth Rollins won the tournament to win the title.
He has been a fighting champion since winning the title, unlike Roman Reigns. He has defended his title everywhere, even in the NXT. Different wrestlers have come up to challenge him for the title from everywhere and he has managed to shut all of them up one by one. His latest feud with Finn Balor ended at SummerSlam with another precious victory to the Visionary.
Major Ambitions: WWE Raw Star Sets Sights On Challenging Seth Rollins For World Heavyweight Championship
Last Monday on RAW, The New Day made a sensational return to WWE with a victory over the Viking Raiders. Kofi Kingston who is the former WWE World Champion recently expressed his desired to challenge Seth Rollins for the title since he is back in the promotion. Speaking on a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” he explained;
“I think the captain is doing a fantastic job, number one as a leader, as a locker room leader over the years. He’s somebody that has always had amazing matches, but has always been kind of like a pioneer in this industry. He’s kind of risen up through the ranks against a lot of odds. Now he’s at the top, so a lot of respect for him in that sense. We call him the captain for a reason.
Kofi Kingston Wants World Title Shot Against Seth Rollins
“He’s always willing to put the company on his back and put the industry on his back and represent to the highest capacity. So always a lot of respect there. But having said that, everybody wants a taste of that gold. I think he understands that. Being at the top, you always have a target on your back. So I don’t think he would be mad or anything if myself or Woods decided to pursue that gold.
“Becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, we’re real greedy. When it comes to gold, we want to hold all the titles. I’m talking about WWE Title, World Heavyweight Title, the Women’s Title, the Women’s Tag Titles. We want all the titles. 24/7 title. We want them all. We’re really greedy when it comes to accolades and gold and things of that nature. So yeah, I think Seth knows he’s got the big target on his back.”
Last week on RAW, the King of Strong Style Shinsuke Nakamura shocked the entire world when he attacked Rollins after their victory over the Judgement Day. It pretty much cleared that Nakamura was the next in the queue to challenge Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Kofi Kingston was never promoted as a potential main event star after the Kofi Mania, but the fans would love to see him back where he belongs.
