This week’s SmackDown started as Charlotte Flair came out to the arena. During her entrance, footage from SummerSlam was shown where Asuka defended the women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. The match was won by Bianca and after the match, Iyo Sky cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to win the Women’s Championship.
Match 1 – Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka went to a double disqualification

The match was going pretty well but Damage CTRL surrounded the ring during it and after around 6 minutes of the match, Iyo Sky and Bayley attacked Flair and Asuka. After leading the match into double disqualification, they left. Dakota Kai was also present but she did not get physically involved in this segment.
Footage from SummerSlam was shown where Roman Reigns defended his Universal Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso. The footage showed how Jimmy Uso betrayed his twin brother during the match just like Nikki Bella betrayed her twin sister Brie Bella nine years ago on SummerSlam.
AJ Styles Defeated Karrion Kross To Hopefully End The Feud
Backstage Kayla Braxton interviewed Santos Escobar who is the no. 1 contender for the WWE United States Championship. He was talking about how happy he was for getting this opportunity. Suddenly he was attacked by Austin Theory who beat him down in the backstage.
Match 2 – AJ Styles defeated Karrion Kross
This match was booked for six and a half minutes and this was not very difficult for the formal two times world champion to earn a victory from this match. This was a long running feud and most of the matches were won by the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Hopefully this is the end of this long running feud.
About this match, it was not bad, but these two are definitely capable of delivering better matches. Michin accompanied AJ Styles during the match. Scarlett attempted to create a distraction for Styles but Michin took her out. At the end, AJ Styles pinned Karrion Kross with Styles Clash.
We go to another pre taped footage, this time they showed the recap of the match between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes. So far they have shown a lot of Pre taped footages which wasted a lot of time already. Once again they showed another footage to waste some more time.
