This week’s SmackDown was a mix of good and bad things. There are mostly bad things, however, the segment between Edge and Sheamus can be considered one of the best segments in SmackDown history. The final segment featuring Roman Reigns and the Bloodline was pretty good too.
The segment between Edge and Sheamus was just so good. It was more of a Hall of Fame speech rather than a wrestling promo. It never sounded scripted, all we hear was just pure love for Each Other between two of the greatest performers ever. This segment will definitely go down as one of the best segments in SmackDown history.

The Bloodline segment at the end was also pretty good, but honestly, Roman Reigns felt like a clown in this segment. It was a segment solely related to The Usos and it never felt Roman Reigns was needed in it. But any appearance from the Tribal Chief is money for WWE so we cannot blame them for putting him in this segment.
Rey Mysterio won the WWE United States Championship tonight. We must acknowledge the Legend with a lot of respect but this was not the way. Austin Theory was holding the championship for more than 250 days. If you hold some championship for such a long time, you should drop it to someone whom they are trying to build as the next big thing.

Rey Mysterio Won The United States Championship Last Night On Smackdown
Rey Mysterio did not need this achievement. They made the same mistake with Bianca Belair’s reign. Everybody was expecting her to drop the title to someone whom WWE wants to give the push to. But she dropped it to Asuka, who was already a star and a former champion. Fans expected that their must have been some kind of vision behind it, but ultimately there was none.
These back to back vision less bookings made it pretty clear that Triple H was overestimated. Fans were frustrated with repetitive contents of Vince McMahon, they wanted a change and they got it. But was it for the betterment? To some aspects, yes. But in most cases, he failed. But we would like to look at the possibilities behind this shocking decision of giving the United States Championship to Rey Mysterio.

There is a possibility that WWE is deciding to unify the United States Championship along with the NXT North American Championship and such a speculation about it is already spreading all over the internet. If this is the case, we would have no other choice but to call Triple H a terrible booker. It will completely destroy NXT.
About the rest of the show, it was pretty average. After last week’s return of Shotzi, we expected her to appear tonight again. But that did not happen. LA Knight continued the winning streak which is definitely a good side. The women’s segment of the night was not bad either. But once again, they wasted a lot of time by showing useless footages from SummerSlam and previous weeks.
