Indian World Cup winner Harbhajan Singh is surprised by the inclusion of the Indian speedster Prasidh Krishna for the Asia Cup 2023. The 27-year-old returned to the Indian team for the three-match Ireland series and impressed everyone with his bowling in the first two games.
The Karnataka pacer was highly impressive for the Indian team in the opportunities provided to him, as he bowls hard lengths with a good pace in the new ball and the old ball. In the 14 50-over games, he has claimed 25 wickets at an economy rate of 5.32 and would look to utilize the opportunity in Asia Cup 2023.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh expressed his surprise over the selection of Prasidh Krisha in the squad for the Asia Cup 2023 as he feels that the pacer will be more suited for the longer format of the game and asserted that Jasprit Bumrah returns to the team will be a big boost for India going into Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.
“I am surprised with the selection of Prasidh Krishna, he is a terrific bowler, but I feel that he is more suited to red-ball and will do well for India there. I think he still needs some time with the white-ball, but he has got the pace and bounce.”

“Bumrah has been looking fit in the Ireland series, which is a great sign for Team India. Having Bumrah in the team will be massive, not just in the Asia Cup, but also for the World Cup,” Harbhajan Singh said.
Jasprit Bumrah was at his best leading the Indian team in the 1st and 2nd T20, as he picked up two wickets in the opening over of the 1st match and followed his fine form in the 2nd game against Ireland picking up two wickets including a final over wicket maiden and will look to continue his fine form going into the Asia Cup 2023.
I Still Believe In Their Ability And Will Now Perform Very Well At The Asia Cup – Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh said that we should not look too much into the results of India’s series loss against West Indies and believes that the young team has got the ability to do well in the future series.

“India recently lost in West Indies, and that was quite a young team. People then started questioning and doubting things after the result. These are very good players, I still believe in their ability and will now perform very well at the Asia Cup,” Harbhajan Singh added.
Indian players Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel failed to step in for the side in crucial moments of the game in the absence of experienced Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the West Indies T20 series which invited a wide range of criticism in the Indian team.
