The head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Zaka Ashraf has called for an emergency meeting to make an important decision on holding onto his chair in Pakistan Cricket, as they are looking to obtain a stay order from the government and Election Commission of Pakistan to remove him from that position.

Ashraf was appointed the chairman of the committee in June, The Lahore High Court is set to hear the plea of the concerned matter on Monday, as some important decisions will be made at the meeting on Sunday regarding their appeal, and according to close sources it said that Zaka Ashraf is trying in the best way possible to save his seat in the cricket board.

“I don’t understand what this set-up is doing because even if a BOG is announced on Sunday to tell the court legally there are so many lacunas still to be resolved,” former chairman Khalid Mahmood maintained.

The reason behind the removal of all institution heads has arisen following a letter from the Sports Ministry principal secretary wanted the election commission to remove all the heads of various institutions in the country and it was reported that Zaka Ashraf might find himself removed from his position with the Pakistan going through some structural changes in cricketing setup.

Pakistan Cricket has been facing issues related to their domestic cricket and team selections in recent times as they have appointed the Cricket Technical Committee under Mishab-ul-Haq to recommend the overall structure of cricket in the country and as the members of the committee have great experience of playing the game for the country over the years.

Zaka Ashraf was delighted by the achievement of the Pakistan team to become the NO.1 ODI team in the world following their empathic series win over Afghanistan and lauded the efforts of the players to achieve this special feat ahead of the Asia Cup 2023.

“This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and unity exhibited by our talented players and their unwavering focus on excellence. It is a proud moment for all of us as the Pakistan cricket team reclaim the top spot in the ODI rankings,” Ashraf said.
Babar Azam-led side secured an emphatic on the final ODI to move to the top of the ODI ranking surpassing the mighty Australian team. The Men in Green has been in fantastic form in ODI cricket as they produced some scintillating performances in recent times and will look to continue their fine form in the Asia Cup 2023.
