Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag congratulated former England spin great Jim Laker who was the first spinner to take 10 wickets in an innings against Australia at Old Trafford, Manchester in 1956.
In Test cricket, only one spinner has got 10 wickets after Laker, and he is Anil Kumble of India in 1999 Delhi Test against Pakistan. Sehwag wished Laker birthday with a popular Hindi song sung by Kishore Kumar “Lekar hum Deewana Dil”.
Laker has played 46 Test matches and took 193 wickets .
Virender Sehwag is on a mission to celebrate all notable cricketers’ birthday and/or achievements. He is known for his humour, but he added a meaning to his tweet. A Sheer humour will break you into a laugh.
Sehwag has retired from international cricket in 2015. Since then he played at All-Star Cricket League, MCL and is currently playing the role of a mentor for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL.
