Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian wonder kid Thiago Maia. The 19-year old is one of the most promising teenagers in entire Brazil.
Yahoo Sports’ Jorge Nicola reports that the Blues are keen to sign the midfielder who has been a regular starter at Santos over the past two seasons.
Thiago Maia is set to represent Brazil in the Rio Olympics this week. The Brazilian midfielder is known for his controlling the build up as he has made 15 appearances for Santos in Brazilian Serie A providing one assist.
Santos own 100% of player’s rights but has promised the player that 30% of the transfer fee would be given to him.
With Chelsea reportedly willing to pay £15m the club could pay Thiago £5m.
Chelsea are sending Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian in an attempt to lure the player to Stamford Bridge as he still has three years left on his current contract with Santos.
The Blues manager Conte is keen to sign Maia amid speculations of either Matic or Oscar leaving Stamford Bridge in their pursuit for first team football.
