Secret Meeting: Player reveals United boss Mourinho himself keen to sign him 1

Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Galatasaray winger Bruma, according to the player himself.

The 21-year-old Portuguese starred in his team’s friendly defeat against Manchester United last weekend, scoring in the first half before Jose Mourinho’s boys recovered to secure a 5-2 win.

And Bruma clearly left an impression on his Portuguese compatriot.

Speaking after the pre-season game in Gothenburg, Bruma told reporters: “He [Mourinho] congratulated me for the performance and said he was impressed with me.

“He promised to closely monitor my work and said I could play for the national team soon.

“Of course, it was amazing to hear this from Mourinho and he said he will keep an eye on how I do this season,” as quoted by the Portuguese publication O Jogo.

However, ESPN claims the Red Devils are not the only suitors keeping tabs on the U-21 winger, who joined the Turkish giants in 2013.

Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven are also believed to have made their interest known.

Bruma’s current club are not ready to let him go, though, with a £21m price tag around his neck to ward off potential suitors.

But that figure would unlikely push away Mourinho if he decides to make a swoop this summer.

The new United boss has already splashed out more than £50million for Eric Bailly and Henrik Mkhitaryan since taking charge in May and, despite Paul Pogba’s imminent £112m arrival, he still has cash to splash.

Bruma suffered a serious knee injury in January 2014 after which he was loaned to Turkish club Gaziantepspor as Galatasaray were forced to let him leave due to the restriction of the number of foreign players in the team.

The Portuguese international spent the last season on loan at Real Sociedad and featured regularly, during his time in Spain.
