MS Dhoni is arguably one of the finest finishers to play this game. The Indian skipper has given India several victories from jaws of defeat and so when India, chasing 246 runs to win, needed 8 runs off the final over in the first T20I against West Indies, it seemed India had the match in their bag. However, Dhoni and Rahul, who scored his maiden T20I ton in this match, failed to hit a boundary off the first five balls and scored 6 runs. 2 runs were needed to win off the final ball and with Dhoni on the strike, every fan was relaxed that their captain cool will take the India team home. However, to everyone’s surprise, Dhoni failed to score those runs and was dismissed on the final ball to give West Indies a 1-0 lead in the series.
As expected his name started trending on Twitter. While some showed their sympathy for India’s most successful skipper, other trolled him for his failure to win the match. Here are some of the reactions:
Suggest @msdhoni please leave cricket now, you are outdated now. #IndvsWI #Dhoni

Spare a thought for MS Dhoni. First he was unable to finish the match and now he has to tolerate Ravi Shastri at the presentation.#IndvsWI

Choose your headline: KL Rahul has risen; MS Dhoni is back; or, may be: Everybody knows DJ Bravo is a champion #IndvsWI

And India lose by 1 run after Dhoni is caught off Bravo. Maybe we needed Sushant Singh Rajput in there. #IndvsWI
