Strengths:
- They have a pretty decent squad.
- They are fresher than most of the sides as they played their CPL Finals few days back.
- They are an exceptional fielding side.
- Bowling looks deadly.
Weakness:
- Playing in Indian conditions will add some pressure to the players.
- There will be more pressure on the team as they are playing the tournament for the first time.
- No quality spinners in the squad.
- They will miss the services of their captain Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Smith and Shoaib Malik.
- Batting is a concern for the Tridents.
Barbados Tridents go into the 2014 Champions League T20 as the underdogs. They are a depleted side as their players Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Smith and Shoaib Malik chose to represent IPL and BBL sides. Even then the Tridents are a strong side and better than few sides in the tournament. The Tridents will be completely relying on their bowlers who are their strength. Their batting looks weak without Smith and Pollard. All of a sudden, Jason Holder looks like the most dependent batsman in the side along with Neil McKenzie.
Bowling looks strong with Ravi Rampaul being the spearhead. HE will be supported by Kyle Mayers, Rayad Emrit and Jason Holder.
Possible Playing XI: William Perkins, Jonathan Carters, Neil McKenzie, Jeevan Mendis, James Franklin, Shane Dowrich, Jason Holder, Ravi Rampaul, Ashley Nurse, Rayad Emrit, Kyle Mayers.
