In the final of the Duleep Trophy India Blue, while batting first scored a mammoth 707 runs on the board. Mayank Agarwal and opener Gautam Gambhir scored 161 and 90 respectively and No. 3Chteshwar Pujara scored 166.
Meanwhile, at No. 7 Sheldon Jackson also scored 105 which helped them to post a mammoth total on the board.
India Green bowler Shreyas Gopal took five wickets but conceded 173 runs.
The Green team batting second in the match all out for 237. The only captain Suresh Raina scored a half century and opener Murali Vijay scored 41. Kran Sharma and Abhimanyu Mithun took three wickets each.
With 470 runs lead, India Blue captain Gautam Gambhir didn’t ask India Green to follow on.
They started batting in the second innings and scored 226 till the tea.
Mayank Agarwal and Gautam Gambhir again gave a good start to India Blue who scored 58 and 59 respectively.
But one incident in the match took everybody by surprise.
Pujara, who scored 166-runs in the first innings, played a bizarre shot.
Pujara tried to sweep Pragyan Ojha and was beaten in the length. So he tumbled on the crease and the shot was not connected well which brought out laughter among the opposition fielders.
Pujara was dismissed for 31.
India Blue is currently leading by 696 runs.
