Antonio Conte has finally dropped a couple of points since his move to the Premier League earlier this summer.
The former Italian boss needed a last ditch goal from Diego Costa to take a point from Swansea City this weekend as he is slowly getting to know the challenges of the Premier League.
The manager has done some decent business in the transfer window and has added a couple of players to his defense in Marcos Alonso and David Luiz but it is clear that he is not happy with the options at his disposal this season.
However, even as Conte needs some reinforcements at the back, Chelsea are set to let go one of their veteran defenders Branislav Ivanovic at the end of the season.
According to reports, the Serbian international will not have a big role to play at the club in years to come and Conte is desperate to offload him before reinforcing his defense.
Reports from the Sun claim that Ivanovic has no future in England and that US domestic football league MLS is the only destination left for the 32-year.
The Serbian defender has started every game for the club so far but with Marcos Alonso also waiting on the sidelines, his game time can be severely reduced this season.
He only has one year left on his contract which might be his last in England’s top flight as it is now understood that he is ready for a move to the US next summer.
There is no shortage of clubs who are ready to pounce on the Serbian international.
With more than 10 months still for the next summer transfer window, the likes of LA Galaxy and New York City are reportedly keeping tabs on the 32-year old for a move come the end of the season.
Ivanovic has been a decent servant for the Blues for more than a couple of years and will be a great addition to the MLS.
Do you think Chelsea should keep hold of Ivanovic for another year?
