The Australian opening Batsman Shaun Marsh and the all-rounder James Faulkner, both have been ruled out of Australia’s tour of South Africa due to injuries. Marsh hasn’t recovered from the broken figure whereas Faulkner suffered a calf injury during the net session on Thursday. The Australian board has recalled the axed batsman Usman Khawaja for the limited overs matches whereas they are yet to name a replacement for James Faulkner.
“Shaun undertook a follow-up X-ray and was reviewed by specialists this week, unfortunately, due to the fracture being in the joint of the finger we have decided to take a more conservative approach.
“Therefore he will not be available for the series in South Africa.” team physiotherapist David Beakley said.
“James suffered a low-grade calf strain during a fitness session in Sydney today which we expect to take three to four weeks to recover.
“Unfortunately this means he will also be unavailable for the South Africa series.” He added.
The Australian team will take on green army, Ireland on September 27 before taking on South Africa in five ODI’s.
