CAB to organise a photo exhibition in honour to India's 500th Test appearance 1

Celebrating India’s 500th Test appearance, the cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will organize a photo exhibition to mark this fascinating journey. The   exhibition will comprise some of the most famous moments in Indian cricket.

“There will be photos of India’s 500 Tests. A small show will be organised during the lunch break on the first day,” said CAB president and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, on Friday, after a meeting where the role of the association officials for the game beginning on 30 September was decided upon.

Eden Gardens will host India’s 501st Test in 84 years, and the second match of the New Zealand series . The honour  of organizing the 500th has gone to Green Park, Kanpur, where the two teams would clash from 22 September.

A shelter will also be set up at the Eden Gardens for the exhibition.

“There will be television sets and entertainment. Anil (Kumble) and (Sunil) Gavaskar will talk about India’s glorious Test journey,” he said, adding that there will also be a fan zone, with places to click selfies.

President Ganguly has invited allrounder Chandu Borde for the second Test. Borde was a member of the Indian team which took on New Zealand in a Test at the Eden Gardens in March 1965.

The third and final Test of the series will be played at Holker Stadium, Indore.
