Pep Guardiola joins his former team in battle for Arsenal starlet after contract talks are stalled 1

Pep Guardiola is now in charge of the only team to win all their games in all competitions this season.

Manchester City are off to a great start to their time under the new manager and are yet to even draw a game even in Europe. They are currently hot favorites to win the Barclays Premier League title and are boasting a team that is one of the strongest in Europe.

The manager made a number of additions to the squad in the off-season and has spent close to £150m in incoming transfers. He has transformed the team to stamp his authority on the squad but Guardiola seems to not have finished his business yet.

Even with a month passing by since the deadline day, Guardiola is still scouting for transfer targets he can get to the Etihad in January or next summer.

One such star Premier League player who is now on the radar of the cash-rich Etihad outfit is Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin.

The 21-year joined Arsenal from Barcelona back in 2011 and Pep Guardiola was in charge of the Catalan outfit and it is understood that Guardiola is a big fan of the fullback and wants to add him to his squad at Manchester City.

The Spaniard made a name for himself in the previous season where he cemented a place in the starting XI on the right side of the defense for the Gunners.

He is contracted with the club till 2018 and was scouted by Barcelona in the summer. However, Wenger was not ready to let go of his prized possession and is now trying to tie him down to a long-term contract.

It is reported that Wenger has offered the 21-year old a lucrative contract extension but for some reason, all talks have now stalled.

This has seen Manchester City ponder over a move for the Spanish defender.

Guardiola is desperate to add to his defense in the next transfer window and Bellerin is easily one of the best in the league at the moment. He is a player who will suit Guardiola’s style at City and will be a great addition to his squad.

However, Wenger is adamant that Bellerin is not for sale and it is also reported that Arsenal officials have already contacted City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain to insist he is not for sale.

That has not stopped rumors linking him with the Premier League club and also his former club in Barcelona.

It is now understood that the Spanish giants and Manchester City will be locked in a fight for the full-back if he does not accept a contract extension before January.

Do you think Arsenal should do everything to keep Bellerin at the club?
