Time and again, Gautam Gambhir has proved that he still has the hunger and desire to play for the Indian team.
The out of favour batsman was dropped from the Indian team way back in 2014 and has never been recalled since. The southpaw, who scored heavily for the Indian team in all formats a few years ago, has performed consistently in the domestic arena and the Indian Premier League in the last couple of years those performances were not enough to please the selectors.
Call for his inclusion became loud after his brilliant performance in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy. The Delhi batsman scored an impressive 356 runs in three matches. His outstanding form coincided with the poor form of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan and there were speculations all around that the southpaw might get a call for the Test series against New Zealand. However, the selectors once again snubbed him as they did not include any new name in the team that defeated West Indies to maintain the winning combination.
But the latest setback has not discouraged the man who played a pivotal role in helping India win two World Cups. The Delhi batsman took to Twitter to say that he is not done yet.

A few days ago after the announcement of the squad for the New Zealand, Gambhir posted a message on Twitter saying that he was ‘ disappointed but not defeated’ and vowed to fight back.
I'm disappointed but not defeated; I'm cornered but not a coward. Grit my partner, courage my pride…for, I must fight, I must fight…

Well, we really wish that the star gets one more chance to prove himself. He has given India several moments to celebrate and deserves one more chance to prove his worth to the team.
