The first Test between New Zealand and India at Kanpur was a historic moment for the hosts as it was their 500th Test. Playing their first Test in 1932, the Indian team has made an inspirational journey. Fans and cricketers across the nation were excited on the occasion and took to express their excitement. Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir also wished the Indian team on the milestone.

India India – the favourite team of most people on the planet— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) September 22, 2016
Well, the former Indian opener will be very disappointed with the team’s performance on the first day. Except for Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay, the whole Indian batting lineup failed to perform. From 154 for 1, a dramatic collapse saw India ending the day on 291 for 9. The fans criticised the whole team for the failure but Rohit Sharma was singled out by them.
Rohit Sharma started his Test career with a bang by scoring centuries in his first two Tests. However, he has struggled to perform since then. His selection in the team for the New Zealand series was widely criticised especially after the selectors ignored the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Shreya Iyer and Manish Pandey, who are scoring heavily in the domestic arena.
And so the fans lost their patience when the Mumbai batsman failed once again with the bat. Rohit scored only 35 against the Kiwis and the fans took to Twitter to troll the batsman.
Here are some of the tweets:

Rohit Sharma has scored crucial 35 runs. Now what? You want him to score for others too? Spare him please!
