Rohit Sharma has 1000* runs to his name in Test format, 5008 runs in ODI’s and 1364 runs in the shortest format of the game. Rohit has taken 33 innings to cross 1000 run mark in Test cricket. Rohit had a flying start to his Test career scoring 288 in first two Test matches he played but soon after that his form took a descending lift and he struggled to get going in the longest format of the game. He has also been dropped sometimes due to his fluctuating form. He is yet to score a century in Test format in past 3 years. Long home series may help Rohit to get his form back.
Despite his average show in the longest format of the game, Rohit is India’s best player in limited overs cricket. He is the only batsman on earth to score two double centuries in ODI’s and is one of two Indians to score a century in all formats of the game. Suresh Raina is the second one who owns this record.
Rohit still has a long way to go in Test cricket and surely he will improve with time.
