Gautam Gambhir strengthens his chance by passing fitness test in Bangalore 1

Earlier, we reported that a discarded Indian opener Gautam Gambhir may be included in the Indian Test team for the second test match against New Zealand at Kolkata, now there has been developments in this news as now it is reported that a few hours ago Gautam Gambhir underwent a fitness test in National cricket Academy (NCA) located in Bangalore and he has passed the fitness test thus stretching his chances for selection in the next Test match against new Zealand.

Gautam Gambhir is in a brilliant form right now as the left-handed batsmen struck four half centuries in five innings, which includes two nervous nineties in recently concluded Pink ball Duleep trophy. He led his team to a successful campaign as well but he will face a competition from Shikhar Dhawan as Virat Kohli may give Shikhar Dhawan another chance.

However, looking at the current form of the both these players, it is Gautam Gambhir who is the favourite among the two but we know that Gambhir does not enjoy a good tuning with the Test captain Virat Kohli and that may go against him. Here is when the role of coach will come into play as Gambhir has played a lot with Anil Kumble, Gambir was also a member of Indian Test team when Kumble was the captain of the team. Kumble knows Gambhir’s power against spin which is probably the reason why he might be called.

Surely, this fitness Test and the entire buzz going on this story guarantees that soon BCCI will make an official announcement regarding this and we may see Gautam Gambhir been inducted into the team.

Rest all, the air will be cleared as soon as BCCI announces its decision.
