Kidambi Srikanth rise in the BWF rankings! 1

In the latest BWF rankings announced on Thursday, Indian men’s single player K Srikanth has jumped into top 10. He reached the quarter-finals of the Japan Open Super Series before losing out in the first round of ongoing Korean Open Super Series.

In the men’s single the top position is occupied by Malaysian player Lee Chong Wei, followed by Olympic champion Chen Long.

The third position is occupied by Lin Dan who came fourth in the recently concluded Rio Olympics held in August. Viktor Axelsen and Jan Jorgensen occupies the 4th and 5th place in the rankings.

The sixth place is occupied by Tian Howuei which is followed by Chou of Chinese Taipei. Son Wan Ho is at the 8th place.

Srikanth who was at 14th place jumped to the 9th position because of his good performance. The other Indian Ajay Jayaram is at 27th place.

While in the women’s Section, Spain Carolina Marin occupies the first place. He was the winner of Rio Olympics. Li Xuerui who was injured in the semi-finals of Rio Olympics occupies the 2nd place.

Intanon occupies the third place while Okuhara who won the bronze medal is at the fourth place.

Saina Nehwal who was at the 8th place has made a jump to 5th place. Both Indian stars rose because of the retirement of Wang Yihan and Wang.

Sindhu has jumped from 10th to 8th in the rankings. Sindhu will return to action in Denmark Super Series.
