Liverpool will look to continue their impressive run when they travel to Liberty Stadium to lock horns against a struggling Swansea City side.
The Reds have started the season with a bang and except the shocking 2-0 defeat to Burnley, they have dominated almost every game. In six league games so far, they have already defeated Arsenal, Leicester City, Chelsea including a 5-1 thrashing of Hull City in their last league game. One of the most dangerous attacking sides in the league, the Merseyside club has scored an impressive 14 goals this term and it will take a herculean effort from the Swans to stop Liverpool’s juggernaut.
Swansea City have started their season poorly and are lying just one place above the relegation zone. Four points in first six games are their lowest tally of points in the Premier League. The hosts are winless in five league games and have lost four games in the process. They have to be at their best to cause any upset but it looks highly unlikely.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp is not expected to make lots of changes to the side that thrashed Hull City last weekend. So, here is their predicted XI for the game against Swansea City.
Loris Karius (GK):
Made his league debut last weekend and looked very comfortable in the goal. Looked solid in the EFL tie against Derby and is expected to start ahead of Simon Mignolet.
Nathaniel Clyne:
Clyne has been one of the best performers in his position in the league. He has looked solid not only in defence but has also impressed in the attacking moves. The England international has already created 13 chances.
Joel Matip:
Matip is definitely one of the biggest positives for the Reds so far. They were in dire need of a good defender to end the defensive woes and so far Matip has risen to the occasion. He has looked rock solid at the heart of the defence and is a guaranteed starter.
Dejan Lovren:
The Croatia international is expected to start in place of Ragnar Klavan who had a good game against Hull. Lovren missed the last game due to illness but his partnership with Matip has been brilliant so far and Klopp would definitely want to stick to his regular defenders.
James Milner:
The versatile player has solved Liverpool’s biggest problem at the back- left back. With Alberto Moreno struggling, Klopp gave the responsibility to Milner and so far he has been phenomenal. He has looked good both in defence as well as attack. Already created 12 chances and has scored 3 goals in the process.
Jordon Henderson:
The Liverpool skipper was under immense pressure to perform before the start of the season but so far he has shut the mouth of his critics with his brilliant displays. Has helped Liverpool to maintain the possession and is certain to partner Wijnaldum in the midfield.
Phillipe Coutinho:
The Brazilian star has been one of the biggest reasons for Liverpool’s dominant start to the season. Has created numerous chances and has found the back of the net on three occasions.
Georginio Wijnaldum:
The former Newcastle United player has started the season very impressively. His unselfish play in the midfield has helped Liverpool’s attack to prosper. He has also performed well in winning the ball quickly from the opposition.
Roberto Firmino:
Firmino has been in good form so far and his unselfish displays has helped Liverpool to wreak havoc on the opposition.Klopp used him as centre-forward in the last game and is expected to start ahead of Daniel Sturridge.
Adam Lallana:
Lallana is undoubtedly the most improved Liverpool player under Klopp. Has looked very impressive in going forward and has already scored 3 goals.
Sadio Mane:
What a signing he is turning out for the Reds. He has already scored 3 goals and made 3 assists and is one of the biggest reasons for Liverpool’s brilliant attacking display this season. His pace, trickery and powerful shooting have terrorised the defenders and he is certain to start against the Swans.
