The much-awaited biopic of India’s most decorated skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni titled ‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’ has finally hit the theatres. There were huge excitement and anticipation surrounding the movie and after the opening day it is safe to say that the movie has justified its hype and buzz. The biographical film has been very well-received by the audience and it is quite safe to say that the movie is all set to become a huge hit.
The movie traces the Indian skipper’s journey from a boy of a middle-class family in Ranchi to the pinnacle of cricket. His huge success on the field made him probably the most popular and loved cricketer in the country in the last decade. And the producers of the movie are trying to cash in on his huge popularity by releasing the movie in 4,500 screens across 60 countries. Well, so far the response has been overwhelming.
The movie began earlier than the usual timings in several places and the response has been very encouraging. The biographical flick registered an average of 70 percent occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in the country. Several places were also jam-packed.
Bollywood critic Taran Adarsh had earlier tweeted that the movie has made a brilliant a brilliant opening.

Well, according to various sources the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer movie was expected to collect a whopping amount of over Rs 20 crore on the first day.
And yes the movie has lived up to its expectations and has collected a staggering amount of Rs 21.30 crore on the opening day. The movie has now become the second highest grossing movie (day 1) of this year. It has left behind the collection record of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan, which collected Rs 19.20 crore on its opening day. Salman Khan starrer Sultan, which collected Rs 36.54 crore on the first day, is the only movie ahead of it.
