Arsene Wenger ready to commit himself to the club to extend his 20-year stay 1

After a turbulent time in the previous campaign, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was reportedly on his way out of the club before the start of the current season.

But the lack of top class managers to replace him with, saw the Frenchman keep his place in the side ahead of this campaign. Though it did not start well, Arsenal have now grown into the season and are currently in the middle of a 4-match winning streak, and will travel to the Turf Moor this weekend.

Speaking to the media, ahead of the game at the weekend, Wenger, who is now into his 20th-year in charge of the English outfit revealed his plans for the future.

When asked if he will stay at the club for another few years, Wenger said, “I rule nothing out because I want to work. And I want to do well,”

“But I accept as well that it can finish tomorrow. It’s a love story and a love story you expect always to last forever. But it can stop any day.” Wenger told reporters.

The Frenchman, who has in his time provided Arsenal with some of their best memories, has entered into the last year of his contract and there are reports that he may put a full stop to his time at the Emirates.

The Sam Allardyce saga has seen the Arsenal manager linked with the England national job and for someone of his reputation, it might not be easy to turn it down.

However, his relationship with the club has been excellent over the years and it is hard to see him get out of the club at such short notice.

Wenger, who is now 66, is ready to stay in the managerial career for a longer time but he has time and again revealed that he does not think too far ahead.

He helped the Gunners to a league title more than a decade ago and has won just two trophies since the turn of the decade.

Before the start of the season, the likes of Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino have improved the quality in the Premier League and it looked like it was time for the Gunners to make a change themselves.

Wenger has had a turbulent time and has been linked with a move away from the club for 2 years now. However, he has managed to come out unscathed and will hope to keep his legacy going.

Surely, Arsenal will hope that they can keep hold of their old man for years to come.
