India defeated New Zealand by 179 runs to win the series 2-0 and also reclaim the number 1 ranked test side from Pakistan. It was an excellent display by the Indian team. In the morning session, India added important runs. The New Zealand innings got off to a good start with the score being 104 for 2 but after that the Indian bowlers created pressure on New Zealand batting line up dismissing them for 197. Here we look at the five turning points of day 4.
- Saha and Kumar adding useful runs
Starting the days score on 227 for 8, Saha and Kumar added some useful runs for the Indian team. Saha completed his half century while Kumar was dismissed for 23. Both of them added 24 runs to help the Indian lead to creep towards 350+. Saha remained not out on 58. The Indian team were dismissed for 263 with a lead of 375.
