Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil had taken the Premier League by storm when he registered an astonishing 15 assists midway through the last season and looked destined to break Thiery Henry’s all-time record of 20 assists in a season. However, an unexpected dip in form saw the Germany international missing out on the record by two assists. But overall he recorded 19 assists which are still very impressive.
After such a brilliant season much was expected from the midfielder. But so far he has failed to replicate his last season’s form. In fact, a stat on twitter showed that his form has been so poor that he has managed just one assist in his last 16 games now.

He has still not recorded a single assist in this season. The former Real Madrid star has scored two goals this term but his lack of creativity in the midfield will worry his club.
With 16 points from 7 games, the Gunners are third on the table but would definitely want their star man to get back to his creative best if they really want to end their league title drought.
Meanwhile, there are some other stats too which prove that the Germany star is a vital cog for the North London club. Ozil has recorded a passing accuracy of 90 percent and has helped his team to dominate the midfield. He has played an important role in the build up to goals which show that the team needs him in order to excel. Their recent results speak for themselves.
Arsenal failed to win their opening two games without the playmaker. They were thrashed 4-3 by Liverpool and drew 0-0 against defending champions Leicester City. However, since his arrival in the starting eleven, the North London club have won five league games on the trot.
